Kärnfull Next is taking the next step in the development of small modular reactors (SMRs) in Blekinge by signing cooperation agreements with landowners to conduct feasibility studies on two properties in Elleholm and Guö-Köpegårda respectively, located in Karlshamn Municipality.

The study will assess technical, economic, and regulatory conditions, serving as a basis for future energy and infrastructure planning.

Kärnfull Next moves forward with Valdemarsvik as a potential new nuclear power municipality and is planning an SMR park with 4–6 small modular reactors (SMRs) in Målma. The decision is based on a a new cooperation agreement with land-owner Latona Group, securing permanent land rights for the project.

Kärnfull Next (KNXT), a leading Swedish developer of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) projects, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) during a ceremony held in Stockholm to evaluate KHNP's innovative i-SMR technology for Sweden.

Kärnfull Next, Sweden’s leading project developer of small modular reactor (SMR) campuses, has signed a collaboration agreement with construction giant Samsung C&T, during the Korea-Sweden Strategic Industry Summit on December 5. The partnership aims to accelerate and strenghten the development of SMR Campuses within the south Swedish SMR program, Re:Firm South.

The large coastal site in Östergötland is part of the company's Re:Firm South SMR program, aiming to expand fossil-free and dispatchable energy production across southern Sweden.

PRESS RELEASE – 18 JUNE 2024

Finnish nuclear technology company Steady Energy and Swedish project developer Kärnfull Next today announced a strategic partnership to introduce small modular reactors (SMRs) for district heating in Sweden, expanding SMR production in the Nordic region. Steady Energy is already set to build SMRs in Helsinki and Kuopio, Finland, with the first commercial unit in operation by 2030.

In a leap towards more sustainable energy, leading Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project development company Kärnfull Next (KNXT) announces plans for its first nuclear new build site for an innovative SMR campus in Nyköping, Sweden.

 

The company has signed a memorandum of understanding and attained prospecting rights to explore the potential for commercial nuclear energy production at Studsvik’s industrial site on Sweden's east coast.
